This Privacy Policy explains how Chosen Resources collects, uses and protects personal information on chosenresources.co.ke.

1. Who we are

Chosen Resources is an educational platform providing digital teaching materials for teachers in Kenya. Contact us via the Contact page for privacy questions.

2. Information we collect

Registration – name, email, phone, password (handled by Firebase Authentication).
Individual purchases – M-Pesa phone, payment reference, amount, resource purchased; limited customer data returned by Paystack.
Membership purchases – same payment data plus plan and membership status/expiry linked to your account.
Usage – downloads, basic technical data needed to operate the service.
Contact form – name, email, message.

We do not collect full card numbers or M-Pesa PINs. Payments are processed by Paystack.

3. Why we collect it

To create and manage accounts.
To process payments and grant the correct access.
To verify payments before activating access.
To show your library, purchases and membership status.
To respond to messages and protect the platform.

4. Storage and protection

Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. Data is stored in Cloud Firestore. Educational files are in private Firebase Storage; access is granted only after server-side checks via short-lived signed URLs. Paystack secret keys are stored so only Cloud Functions can read them. Security rules restrict teachers to their own data.

5. Service providers

Google Firebase / Google Cloud (auth, database, storage), Paystack (payments). We do not sell personal information.

6. Retention and your rights

We keep records as needed to provide the service and meet legal requirements. Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 you may request access, correction or deletion. Contact us via the Contact page.

7. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
